PARENTS
CORNER

Sooner or later teens will convince parents into letting them learn to drive and parent participation is a key ingredient in
improving their teens driving safety.
Parents are the unofficial drivers ed instructor.
Here are a few steps parents should follow and the tools to implement them. Remember, Central Driving Academy is
at your disposal every step of the way.
  • Communicate with your teen.
Agree on your expectations and consequences of violations.
  • Choose the right driving school
Based on the quality of their education
  • Learn the procedures.
Getting a license can be complicated, make sure you know the correct steps and understand the required
    documents.
  • Be a good role model
Drive safely and follow the rules of the road, teens do as their parents, don't drink and drive or under the
influence of drugs, avoid road rage, and no cell phones or texting while driving.
  • Be a good instructor.
  • Get involved
Talk to your teens driving teacher, find out what skills your teen needs to focus on when practicing with you.
  • Evaluate
Make sure your teen experiences all driving conditions including night driving.
